What Time of Year Are USNA Reunions Held?

USNA reunion season is generally concentrated between late August and early November. Many class reunions are planned around Navy home football weekends, Homecoming, or another fall academy event. Exact dates vary by class and year.

Early fall reunions

Late August and September can offer warm weather and longer daylight. These weekends may overlap with the start of Navy football, Plebe Parents’ Weekend, or other academy activities, so hotel demand can change sharply.

Mid-fall and Homecoming

October is popular for Annapolis reunions and football travel. It may also overlap with major city events, including annual boat shows. Compare the academy calendar, football schedule, city events, and hotel availability before finalizing a weekend.

Late-fall reunions

Late October and early November may offer cooler weather, earlier sunsets, and changing conditions. Football kickoff times may not be announced when the reunion is first planned, so transportation and dining schedules should remain flexible.

Spring or off-season gatherings

A smaller class gathering may be possible outside traditional fall reunion season. Avoid conflicts with Commissioning Week, other academy milestones, and large Annapolis events. Confirm Yard access and event-space availability first.

How Often Do Classes Hold Major Reunions?

Many classes plan formal reunions in five-year cycles, such as the 5th, 10th, 15th, and later milestone years. Size, budget, accessibility needs, and preferred schedule may change with each milestone.

A 10th reunion may emphasize nightlife and family activities. A 25th or 30th may include more spouses and children. A 50th or later reunion may require accessible transportation, shorter walking routes, and daytime programming.

Choosing Annapolis Hotels for a Class Reunion

Downtown Annapolis

Downtown hotels provide access to restaurants, the waterfront, and the Naval Academy area. Parking, accessible rooms, suites, and rooms with two beds may be limited. Confirm the actual walking route before choosing a headquarters hotel.

Stadium and West Annapolis area

This area can be useful when the reunion includes a Navy football game or tailgate. It may reduce stadium transportation but require a separate plan for downtown events.
